Social Security benefits that are available to the surviving children seem to be a very important advantage that may help such children get a bright future. It is a noble provision incorporated by the administration of Social Security for offering proper care and guidance to the children belonging to the working parents in case, the workers die.

As per these benefits, in case the worker who is liable for receiving these benefits dies, then family members of that worker receive the benefits on their behalf. These members also include the surviving children. There are certain factors that decide about the eligibility of children for receiving these benefits. Children below 18 years of age, children with some disability provided the fact that they got disabled before they turned 22, are legally eligible for receiving these benefits.
