Ideally speaking, it is always a healthier and happier prospect to experience any stage in life at the appropriate age such education, menstruation, work, marriage, child birth and even death. The same philosophy is valid for menopause.
The signs of menopause marking the peri-menopause era normally are known to commence between 45 to 55 years of age. The symptoms illustrating this phase can be extremely taxing for the woman, physically and emotionally; therefore it is even more annoying when they occur before time.
If one is well aware of the indicators of an early menopause, it would help to cope with the situation better. One of the most evident signs is irregularity in the menstruation cycle. This could either come in the form of skipped cycles or increase in the frequency of periods. The flow of blood also gets altered demonstrating an abnormally increased or decreased bleeding. Associated with this symptom comes another one that could be a cause of major concern. Irregular cycles signify erratic ovulation which may result in infertility.
Another common sign is episodes of hot flashes. Relief from this symptom can be obtained by reducing stress, wearing loose-fitting clothing, exercising, reduction in the intake of caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods or simply by splashing cold water on the face and wrists.
Owing to the decrease in the production of estrogen in the body, vaginal dryness and vaginal atrophy; and problems related to bladder control are common signs experienced during early menopause. While the treatment of the former is available in the form of estrogen replacement therapy, problems concerning the bladder can also be solved by Kegel exercises that aid in strengthening the muscles around the vagina and opening of the bladder. Insomnia, frequent headaches, palpitations, gaining weight, getting wrinkles, loss of muscle tone, breast tenderness, gastrointestinal pain and nausea, itchy skin, "buzzing" in the head, bloated body, dizziness, soreness in the joints and muscles, loss of hair, enhanced growth of facial hair and alterations in body odor are other signs experienced by many ladies undergoing early menopause.
