Muscular deterioration can be prolonged in the elderly by the intake of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin and beta carotene, which can be obtained by eating a minimum of 5 helpings of dark green, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables.
